Sonic Experience is an ongoing interdisciplinary project curated by Marco+Barbara & Imaginary Friends at Chinatown Soup Art/Community. Located at 16B Orchard Street, New York, NY presented under Secret Lovers Presents.

For the past three years, Barbara Gogan and Marco Dianese have shaped Sonic Experience as a living platform for experimentation, collaboration, and artistic exchange. The project brings together musicians, poets, dancers, and performing artists from diverse backgrounds, inviting them into a shared space of improvisation, listening, and real-time creation.

Rather than showcasing finished works, Sonic Experience centers on process over product. Artists collaborate across disciplines—sound, movement, and language—responding intuitively to one another and presenting current research, works-in-progress, and evolving practices. Music blends with spoken word, bodies move through sound, and poetry emerges as rhythm, breath, and presence.

Rooted in community and collective exploration, Sonic Experience transforms the venue into a temporary laboratory where sound, poetry, and dance intersect. Each gathering becomes a singular, unrepeatable experience—inviting audiences to witness creation as a living, shared moment.
